Located in Rouffach, the Clos Saint Landelin, fully owned by the Muré family, covers an area of 12 hectares (29 acres). It marks the southern end of the Grand Cru Vorbourg. Located at the exit of the valley, it is exposed to the south and benefits from a good amount of sunshine until late in the afternoon. The north and south-west winds ensure that the vines remain healthy until harvest time. The steep slopes of the Clos Saint Landelin require terraced cultivation. Its marl and limestone soil is particularly stony. The subsoil is composed of Oligocene conglomerates with oolitic limestone pebbles. These elements come together to form a very distinctive terroir. The vineyard is worked in biodynamic agriculture. The vines are tightly planted, at about 10,000 plants per hectare (4,000 plants per acre).
Pale gold color. The nose is fine with aromas of rose, ginger and mango. The mouth is elegant with flavors of exotics fruits. This wine is well-balanced and delicate.
Can be enjoyed with foie gras, exotic cooking and cheeses like munster.
